Biography of Zuntu Bashir Suleiman

Zuntu Bashir Suleiman is a Nigerian accountant, administrator and politician from Kaduna State. He was born in 1990 and has developed a career combining professional accounting, public administration and political service. He is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is associated with the Ikara/Kubau Federal Constituency of Kaduna State.

Bashir Suleiman Zuntu holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Abuja and a Master of Science degree in Finance from Coventry University in the United Kingdom. He is also a Chartered Accountant and has developed professional expertise in financial management, financial inclusion, monitoring and evaluation, public administration, and organisational strategy.

Before his appointment to senior political and administrative positions, Zuntu worked as a Senior Accountant with the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment and also served in the Finance and Accounts Department of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN). These positions gave him experience in public-sector financial management and government administration.

Zuntu later became involved in local government administration in Kaduna State. He served as the Executive Chairman of Kubau Local Government Area from 2021 to 2023, where he was responsible for overseeing local administration and coordinating government activities within the area.

In July 2023, he was appointed Accountant General of Kaduna State by Governor Uba Sani. The appointment placed him in charge of a key aspect of the state's financial administration, including responsibilities connected with public revenue, government accounts and financial management. He subsequently continued to build his profile as a financial and public-sector administrator.

Zuntu later returned to elective politics and contested the APC primary for the Ikara/Kubau Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections. In May 2026, he won the APC primary with 1,787 votes, securing the party's ticket to contest the federal constituency.

With his background in accounting, finance, local government administration and state-level public financial management, Zuntu Bashir Suleiman has developed a political career closely connected with public administration and grassroots representation. His 2027 candidacy represents his move from executive and administrative positions into seeking federal legislative representation for the people of Ikara and Kubau.
