Biography of Hon. Ahmed Satomi

Hon. Satomi Alhaji Ahmad, popularly known as Ahmed Satomi, is a Nigerian politician, civil engineer and legislator from Borno State. He was born on 21 February 1981 in Borno State and represents the Jere Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Satomi studied Civil and Water Resources Engineering at the University of Maiduguri, where he obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree. He later earned a Master of Science degree in Highway and Transportation Engineering, giving him a professional background in engineering and infrastructure development.

Before entering the National Assembly, Satomi held several public-service positions in Borno State. He served as Chairman of the Borno State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and was also involved in the management of the Borno State Road Maintenance Agency. These positions gave him experience in emergency response, disaster management and infrastructure maintenance.

Satomi entered federal politics and was elected to the House of Representatives to represent Jere Federal Constituency. He was re-elected in the 2023 general election and became a member of the 10th National Assembly. In the House, he has participated in legislative activities concerning security, emergency management, infrastructure and the welfare of his constituents.

He has also been involved in constituency interventions, particularly during periods of disaster and displacement. Following the devastating floods that affected Maiduguri and Jere in September 2024, Satomi announced financial assistance for affected residents and supported relief efforts for communities impacted by the disaster.

Within the National Assembly, Satomi has served in committee leadership and legislative roles, including as Chairman of the House Committee on National Security and Intelligence. His legislative activities have included issues relating to national security, emergency preparedness and the protection of communities affected by crises.

In May 2026, Satomi was affirmed as the APC candidate for Jere Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election. His political career has therefore combined engineering, emergency management, grassroots administration and federal legislative representation.

Ahmed Satomi continues to represent Jere Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, with his public service record spanning engineering, disaster management, community interventions and federal legislative duties.
