Biography of Hon. Olufemi Richard Bamisile

Hon. Olufemi Richard Bamisile is a Nigerian politician and public servant from Ekiti State. Born on 27 September 1965, he represents the Emure/Gbonyin/Ekiti East Federal Constituency of Ekiti State in the House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He was elected to the National Assembly in 2023.

Bamisile began his education at Mayflower School, Ikenne, and later attended Government College, Eric Moore, Lagos. He subsequently studied at the Federal College of Arts and Sciences in Lagos and began a degree in Political Science at the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University. He later studied Business Administration at Ekiti State University and obtained postgraduate qualifications in Public Sector Governance and Administration.

His public-service career began in Lagos, where he served as a Special Adviser on Internally Generated Revenue to the Chairman of Surulere Local Government between 2001 and 2002. In 2003, he became the Liaison Officer for Ekiti State in Lagos. He subsequently served in the Ekiti State Government as Acting Chairman of the State Sports Commission and as Special Assistant on General Duties.

Bamisile later entered the Ekiti State House of Assembly, where he served as a legislator and eventually became Speaker. His political career continued at the federal level, and he was elected to represent Emure/Gbonyin/Ekiti East in the House of Representatives in 2023. In the 10th National Assembly, he has been involved in legislative activities relating to infrastructure, public administration and constituency development.

Through his years in public service, Olufemi Richard Bamisile has built a political career spanning local government, the Ekiti State Government, the State House of Assembly and the National Assembly. His current legislative role is centred on representing the interests of the people of Emure, Gbonyin and Ekiti East Federal Constituency.
