Hon. Okere Tochukwu Chinedu is a Nigerian politician, entrepreneur and legislator from Imo State. He was born on 26 March 1975 and is associated with the Owerri Federal Constituency, comprising Owerri Municipal, Owerri North and Owerri West.
Okere attended Government College Umuahia and later proceeded to the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), where he obtained a Bachelor of Technology degree in Project Management. He also has a background in entrepreneurship and business before entering elective politics.
In the 2023 general election, Okere was elected to the House of Representatives under the platform of the Labour Party to represent Owerri Federal Constituency. Upon his inauguration into the 10th National Assembly, he was appointed Chairman of the House Committee on Diaspora and Vice Chairman of the Committee on Christian Pilgrimage Affairs.
As Chairman of the House Committee on Diaspora, Okere has participated in initiatives concerning the welfare and engagement of Nigerians living abroad. He has also been involved in legislative activities and constituency development programmes focused on infrastructure and social welfare.
In 2026, Okere moved from the Labour Party to the All Progressives Congress (APC). He is listed as the APC candidate for Owerri Municipal, Owerri North and Owerri West Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general election.
