About Ogazi Daniel Ogah (Hon.)

Hon. Daniel Ogah Ogazi is a Nigerian politician and lawmaker from Nasarawa State. He represents Kokona East Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly and is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He has served multiple terms in the state legislature and has built his political career around legislative service, constituency representation and community development.

Ogazi's political career has been closely associated with Kokona Local Government Area, particularly the Kokona East constituency. During his time in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, he became involved in legislative and constituency matters affecting residents of the area. He has also served as Chairman of the House Committee on Rules and Business, a position that involves responsibilities connected with the legislative proceedings and organisation of the Assembly.

In 2023, Ogazi was elected for another term to represent Kokona East Constituency, making him a third-term member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly. His continued presence in the legislature has given him considerable experience in state-level lawmaking and constituency representation. In June 2023, he was also elected Speaker by a majority of members during a leadership dispute in the Assembly, although the competing faction maintained a different position on the leadership.

Beyond legislative duties, Ogazi has been involved in constituency development and empowerment activities. His interventions have included support for healthcare, education, water supply, employment and empowerment programmes. In 2024, he distributed vehicles and motorcycles to constituents and political and traditional stakeholders, describing the initiative as part of his efforts to support people within Kokona East.

In April 2026, Ogazi formally declared his intention to contest for the Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections. He said his decision followed calls from people across the constituency who wanted him to move from the state legislature to the National Assembly. He presented his aspiration around quality representation, legislation and constituency development.

Ogazi subsequently emerged as the APC candidate for the Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency for the 2027 House of Representatives election. In his campaign activities, he has continued to highlight issues including youth and women empowerment, employment, infrastructure and community development. His candidacy marks a transition from his long service in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly to a bid for federal legislative representation.

Daniel Ogah Ogazi's public career therefore combines several terms of state legislative service with extensive involvement in constituency affairs. His move toward the House of Representatives in 2027 represents the next stage of his political career, as he seeks to represent the people of Karu, Keffi and Kokona at the federal level.
