Biography of Hon. Maduba Cosmas Nwabueze

Hon. Maduba Cosmas Nwabueze is a Nigerian politician and public administrator from Imo State. He is a native of Isunjaba in Isu Local Government Area of Imo State and is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He is currently associated with the Isu/Njaba/Nkwerre/Nwangele Federal Constituency and is the APC candidate for the constituency ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election.

Maduba is 66 years old and holds a Bachelor of Science degree, in addition to the First School Leaving Certificate and the West African Examination Council (WAEC) qualification. Before his appointment to government, he was involved in business and political activities and developed a long-standing presence in Imo State politics.

He served as Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security in Imo State under Governor Hope Uzodimma. In that capacity, he was involved in programmes aimed at supporting farmers through the distribution of agricultural inputs, including fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides and farming equipment. He also promoted initiatives relating to agribusiness, palm-oil production, rural development and food security.

Maduba, popularly known as Odoebube Isu, has been active in politics for several decades. He has stated that his political involvement dates back to the military era and that he first contested for the House of Representatives in 1999 under the Alliance for Democracy. In 2026, he resigned his position as commissioner to pursue his ambition of representing the Isu, Njaba, Nkwerre and Nwangele Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.

Ahead of the 2027 election, Maduba emerged as the APC candidate for the constituency. His campaign has focused on job creation, business development, youth opportunities and addressing economic challenges within the four local government areas that make up the constituency.
