Hon. Ishaq Tasiu is a Nigerian politician from Jigawa State and a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He is the APC candidate for the Dutse/Kiyawa Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election.
Ishaq Tasiu has been active in politics in Jigawa State, particularly within the Dutse area. His educational qualifications include the First School Leaving Certificate and the Senior Secondary School Certificate/West African Senior School Certificate. He has also been involved in grassroots political activities and community engagement.
Tasiu previously served in the Jigawa State House of Assembly, representing the Dutse constituency. He won the Dutse State Constituency seat under the APC and was declared winner of the supplementary election held in 2023, defeating his closest opponent from the Peoples Democratic Party.
During his time in the state legislature, Tasiu participated in legislative activities concerning his constituents and the wider development of Dutse. His political experience at the state level later provided a foundation for his move toward federal representation.
In the 2026 APC House of Representatives primary, Ishaq Tasiu emerged unopposed through a consensus arrangement as the party's candidate for Dutse/Kiyawa Federal Constituency. His candidacy was subsequently listed among the APC candidates for Jigawa State ahead of the 2027 general election.
As the APC candidate, Ishaq Tasiu is seeking to represent the people of Dutse and Kiyawa in the National Assembly, bringing his previous legislative experience and grassroots political background to the contest.
