Biography of Hon. Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa

Hon. Chief (Dr.) Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa is a Nigerian businessman, media strategist, humanitarian and politician from Amaekpu Ohafia in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State. He is also known by the traditional title Omezimba 1 of Amaekpu Ohafia.

Ikenna Ukwa has built a professional career across media, advertising, consulting and technology. He served as Senior Assistant Manager and Senior Advertisement Manager at THISDAY Newspaper before establishing himself in the private sector. He is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Reigh Advertising & Consulting and a co-founder of East Point Media & Consult Ltd.

He has also gained experience in legislative and public affairs. He currently serves as a Senior Legislative Aide to the President of the Nigerian Senate, giving him direct experience with the workings of the National Assembly and public policy. His professional interests include strategic planning, public policy, technology, data analytics and digital infrastructure.

Beyond his professional career, Ukwa is involved in community development and humanitarian activities. Together with his wife, Jennifer Enyidiya Ukwa, he co-founded the Ikenna & Jenn Ukwa Foundation, which supports communities through educational assistance, healthcare initiatives, empowerment programmes and other forms of social intervention. His reported community initiatives include scholarships, medical outreaches, educational materials, agricultural support and solar-powered street lighting projects across communities in Arochukwu and Ohafia.

Politically, Ikenna Ukwa is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He emerged as the party's candidate for the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election. His political platform emphasizes effective representation, youth empowerment, infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and the development of the digital economy.

With a background spanning business, media, legislative affairs, technology and community development, Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa represents a relatively new generation of political aspirants in Abia State. His 2027 candidacy marks his move from professional and community leadership into an electoral contest for representation in the National Assembly.
