Biography of Senator Haruna Manu

Senator Haruna Manu is a Nigerian politician, educationist, administrator, and public servant from Taraba State. He has served as a legislator at both the state and federal levels and is known for his involvement in politics, education, governance, and community development.

Haruna Manu was born on 10 April 1976 in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State. He received his early education in Taraba State before proceeding to higher education.

He attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he studied Education and Geography. He later obtained postgraduate qualifications, including a Master's degree in Educational Administration and Planning, further strengthening his background in education and administration.

Before entering elective politics, Manu worked in the education sector. His professional experience included teaching and educational administration, giving him practical knowledge of the challenges facing students, teachers, and educational institutions.

Manu entered politics and became involved in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). His political career began at the state level, where he contested for a seat in the Taraba State House of Assembly.

He was elected to represent Gassol II Constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly. During his time in the state legislature, he participated in lawmaking, oversight activities, constituency representation, and discussions concerning the development of Taraba State.

Manu later rose to become Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly. His tenure as Speaker gave him significant experience in legislative leadership, parliamentary administration, and coordination of legislative business.

In the 2015 general elections, Manu contested for the Taraba Central Senatorial District seat and was elected to the 8th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the PDP.
