Biography of Hon. Chinedu Nweke Ogah

Hon. Chinedu Nweke Ogah, popularly known as “Chiboy,” is a Nigerian politician and philanthropist from Ebonyi State. Born on 8 August 1976 in Item village, Amagu community, Ikwo Local Government Area, he represents the Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He is serving his second term in the National Assembly.

Ogah began his education at CPS Ohatekwe Amagu Ikwo and later attended CSS Ndufu Alike Ikwo. He proceeded to the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, where he obtained National Diploma and Higher National Diploma qualifications in Public Administration. He also holds a Master of Science degree.

His early leadership activities included student and youth mobilisation. He served as Public Relations Officer of the Students' Union Government at Ebonyi State University and later became National President of the Ebonyi Youth Assembly. He was also involved in youth leadership within the Peoples Democratic Party in Ebonyi State before becoming a member of the APC.

Ogah entered the National Assembly following the 2019 elections and subsequently secured his mandate through a court ruling. He was re-elected in 2023, returning for a second term in the 10th National Assembly.

In the House of Representatives, Ogah has served as Chairman of the House Committee on Reformatory Institutions. His legislative activities have included matters relating to education, community development, agriculture and social support. He has also been associated with legislative proposals concerning the establishment of a Federal College of Food Technology in Ikwo and amendments relating to the Federal University of Ndufu-Alike Ikwo.

Outside the legislature, Ogah has been involved in philanthropic activities through the Chinedu Ogah Foundation. The foundation has supported scholarships, examination-fee assistance, agricultural initiatives and other forms of grassroots assistance within his constituency.

In 2026, Ogah emerged as the APC candidate for the Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency for the 2027 general election, following the party's primary election.

Chinedu Nweke Ogah's public career has therefore combined student and youth leadership, political organisation, philanthropy and federal legislative service, with his political activities closely connected to the Ikwo and Ezza South communities of Ebonyi State.
