Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu is a Nigerian politician, real estate developer and legislator from Enugu State. He was born on 2 April 1982 in Umumba Ndiaga Ugwuaji, Enugu South Local Government Area of Enugu State. He represents the Enugu North/Enugu South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. He was elected in the 2023 general elections on the platform of the Labour Party (LP) and became a member of the 10th National Assembly.
Atu obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Enugu State University of Science and Technology in 2006. Following his education, he ventured into the real estate business before becoming involved in partisan politics. His professional background in real estate provided him with experience in property development and private-sector activities before his entry into the National Assembly.
Before his election to the House of Representatives, Atu was involved in community development and humanitarian activities in his constituency. He has supported educational initiatives, including scholarships, and community projects such as electricity connections. These activities contributed to his grassroots engagement before and during his political career.
As a member of the 10th National Assembly, Atu has participated in legislative activities concerning Enugu State and the wider national interest. He was also among the lawmakers who sponsored a constitutional amendment bill proposing the creation of additional Local Government Areas in Enugu State.
In 2025, Atu moved from the Labour Party to the All Progressives Congress (APC), becoming one of the representatives from Enugu State associated with the party. He has continued his political activities and constituency representation while serving in the House of Representatives.
Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu remains active in Nigerian politics, combining his experience in real estate, community engagement and federal legislative service in representing the people of Enugu North and Enugu South Federal Constituency.
