Biography of Hon. Blessing Onyeche Onuh

Hon. Blessing Onyeche Onuh is a Nigerian politician and legislator from Benue State. She was born on 30 June 1976 in Otukpo, Benue State, and represents the Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. She is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Onuh began her education at St. Andrew's Primary School, Otukpo, and later attended Federal Government Girls' College, Gboko, where she completed her secondary education. She proceeded to the University of Abuja, where she studied Sociology and obtained a bachelor's degree in 1999. She also pursued further studies in gender-related fields.

After completing her university education, Onuh served with the National Youth Service Corps and was posted to the Central Bank of Nigeria in Jos, where she worked in the Agriculture Department. She later entered public administration and served as a Special Assistant to federal ministers, gaining experience in government affairs and administration.

She subsequently served as Secretary of the Social Development Secretariat in the Federal Capital Territory Administration. During her time in public service, she was also involved in activities relating to social welfare, community development and public administration.

Onuh entered elective politics and contested for the Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency seat in the 2019 general election. She won the election on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and became a member of the 9th National Assembly. In 2021, she defected from APGA to the APC.

She was re-elected in the 2023 general election and became a member of the 10th National Assembly. In the House of Representatives, she has participated in legislative activities concerning transportation, security, community development, education and social welfare. She has also been involved in constituency-focused initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure and supporting residents of Otukpo and Ohimini.

Onuh has maintained an active role in grassroots engagement and community representation. Her public service career spans federal administration, social development and legislative representation, with particular attention to the development and welfare of her constituents.

Blessing Onyeche Onuh continues to serve as the representative of Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency in the National Assembly. Her career reflects experience in public administration, social development and federal legislative service.
