Barrister Peter Ndubuisi Mbah is the Governor of Enugu State, sworn in on May 29, 2023, serving his first term under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Born on March 17, 1972, in Owo, Enugu State, he holds an LL.B from the University of East London, an LL.M in Maritime & Commercial Law from LASU, an MBA from IESE Business School, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategy and Innovation from Oxford University.
Before politics, he was a successful entrepreneur in oil and gas, education, and investments, founding Pinnacle Oil and Gas, Peter Mbah Investments Limited, and Focus International Schools. He also served as Chief of Staff and Commissioner for Finance in Enugu State.
Governor Mbah’s administration follows the “Tomorrow Is Here” manifesto, aiming to boost the state’s GDP from $4.4 billion to $30 billion. The ₦1.62 trillion 2026 “Budget of Renewed Momentum” allocates 80% to capital projects, emphasizing education (32%), infrastructure, housing, transportation, and security. He is married to Nkechinyere Mbah and has four children.
