Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa is the Governor of Ondo State, having assumed office on December 27, 2023, after the death of Rotimi Akeredolu, and won a full four-year term in November 2024 with a landslide victory. Born on January 12, 1965, in Obe-Nla, Ondo State, he holds an NCE in Economics and Government, an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration, an MBA from the University of Liverpool, and is an alumnus of Lagos Business School.
Before politics, he worked in education, pharmaceuticals, and finance, founding the Blue Wall Group of companies. Politically, he served as Deputy Governor from 2021 and acted as governor twice in 2023 before becoming governor.
His administration’s 2026 “Budget of Economic Consolidation” (₦524.4 billion) focuses on infrastructure, health, and education to promote economic self-reliance. He is married to Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa, has three children, and holds the national honor of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).
