Biography of Hon. Bello Monsuru Oloyede

Hon. Bello Monsuru Oloyede, popularly known as OBE, is a Nigerian politician and grassroots leader in Lagos State. He is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and has been closely associated with political activities in the Oshodi-Isolo area of Lagos.

Oloyede rose to prominence in local government politics when he contested the 2017 Lagos State local government elections on the platform of the APC. He won the chairmanship election for Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), defeating candidates from the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party. (cdn.punchng.com)

As Executive Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, Oloyede became known for his involvement in community development projects. During his administration, several infrastructure initiatives were undertaken, including the rehabilitation of Ifoshi Road and improvements to educational facilities within the council area. His administration also placed emphasis on community engagement and local development.

Oloyede remained active within the APC and continued to participate in political mobilisation across Oshodi-Isolo. His experience as a former council chairman gave him a strong grassroots political profile and increased his involvement in the wider politics of the constituency.

In May 2026, Oloyede contested the APC primary for the Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency II seat. He emerged victorious with 8,252 votes, defeating several other aspirants, including former commissioners Kehinde Bamigbetan and Ganiyu Johnson.

Following his victory at the primary, Bello Monsuru Oloyede became the APC candidate for Oshodi-Isolo II Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election. His candidacy represents a move from local government leadership to the federal level, with his campaign building on his previous experience in grassroots administration and community development.

Oloyede's political career has largely been shaped by his involvement in local governance, party organisation, and community development. His emergence as the APC's 2027 House of Representatives candidate has further established him as one of the prominent political figures in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II.
