Hon. Anamero Sunday Dekeri is a Nigerian politician, lawyer, businessman and philanthropist from Edo State. He was born in Ogute-Oke, Okpella, in Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State. He currently represents the Etsako Federal Constituency, comprising Etsako East, Etsako West and Etsako Central, in the House of Representatives.
Dekeri had a humble upbringing in Okpella and was raised in a family involved in pastoral farming. He attended Ugbedudu Primary School, Ogute-Oke, and later Ogute-Oke Secondary School. He proceeded to Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree.
Before entering elective politics, Dekeri developed interests in business and entrepreneurship. He established Danco International Group and its subsidiary, Gulf Treasure Ltd., with business interests extending into different areas. His career in business contributed to his involvement in community development and philanthropic activities.
Dekeri has also been involved in humanitarian work through the Anamero Idofe Foundation. The foundation has supported scholarships, educational materials, bursaries, rural infrastructure, water projects and assistance for vulnerable members of communities across Edo State.
He entered elective politics and was elected to the House of Representatives to represent the Etsako Federal Constituency. He became a member of the National Assembly and has subsequently been involved in legislative activities concerning his constituency and the wider country.
During his time in the House, Dekeri has sponsored bills and motions concerning healthcare, education, environmental protection, security and development in Etsako. His legislative initiatives have included proposals for a Federal Medical Centre in Uluoke-Uzairue and a Federal College of Education (Technical) in Okpella.
His constituency activities have also included projects and interventions in electricity, education, agriculture, skills development and youth empowerment. His office has reported solar street-light installations, agricultural and artisan support programmes, and skills-training initiatives across the three local government areas that make up Etsako Federal Constituency.
In 2026, Dekeri won the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Etsako Federal Constituency and received the party's certificate of return for the 2027 House of Representatives election.
Anamero Sunday Dekeri's public career therefore spans law, entrepreneurship, philanthropy and legislative service, with his political activities centred particularly on the Etsako Federal Constituency of Edo State.
