AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is a Nigerian businessman, politician, philanthropist, and public administrator who serves as the Governor of Kwara State. He is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and has been a prominent figure in Kwara State politics and development.

AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq was born on 5 February 1960 in Ilorin, Kwara State. He comes from the prominent AbdulRazaq family of Ilorin. His father, AbdulGaniyu Folorunso AbdulRazaq, was a distinguished lawyer, diplomat, politician, and elder statesman who played an important role in Nigeria's political history.

He received his early education in Nigeria before proceeding abroad for further studies. AbdulRahman developed an interest in business and entrepreneurship and subsequently built a career in the private sector.

Before entering active politics, AbdulRazaq established himself as a businessman and entrepreneur. He became involved in several areas of business and investment and was particularly known for his involvement in the media and publishing industry. He founded and was associated with The Nigerian Financial Standard, a publication focused on business and financial affairs.

His involvement in public affairs gradually led him into politics. AbdulRazaq became an active member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and participated in political activities in Kwara State. He became particularly prominent during the campaign for political change in the state ahead of the 2019 general elections.

In the 2019 Kwara State governorship election, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq contested under the platform of the APC. He defeated the incumbent governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, and was elected Governor of Kwara State. He was sworn into office on 29 May 2019.

As governor, AbdulRazaq introduced an administration focused on education, healthcare, infrastructure, economic development, transparency, and human-capital development. His government placed significant emphasis on improving public schools, upgrading healthcare facilities, renovating roads, and expanding opportunities for young people.

One of the notable areas of his administration has been education reform. His government undertook the renovation and upgrading of public schools, improved learning environments, and implemented initiatives aimed at increasing access to quality education for children across Kwara State.

In the 2023 governorship election, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq was re-elected as Governor of Kwara State for a second term. His second administration has continued to emphasize infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, investment, youth empowerment, and economic development.

AbdulRazaq has also promoted efforts to attract private investment into Kwara State and create employment opportunities. His administration has supported entrepreneurship, agriculture, skills development, and initiatives designed to improve the state's business environment.
