Biography of Abdullahi Sule

Abdullahi A. Sule is a Nigerian politician, businessman, and public administrator who serves as the Governor of Nasarawa State. He is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and has built a career spanning business, corporate management, politics, and public administration.

Abdullahi Sule was born on 26 December 1959 in Gudi, Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. He received his early education in the region before pursuing higher education and professional training.

He studied Mechanical Engineering at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he obtained his degree. He later pursued additional professional and management training, developing expertise in engineering, business administration, corporate leadership, and management.

Before entering politics, Sule established a successful career in the private sector. He worked in various engineering and management positions and eventually became involved in the leadership of major industrial organisations.

One of the notable positions he held was as Managing Director of Dangote Sugar Refinery, where he was involved in the company's operations, expansion, production, and business development. His experience in the private sector gave him extensive knowledge of industrial management, investment, agriculture, and economic development.

Sule later became involved in politics in Nasarawa State and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). His background in business and management became an important part of his political profile, particularly his emphasis on attracting investment and creating employment opportunities.

In the 2019 governorship election, Abdullahi Sule contested for the position of Governor of Nasarawa State under the APC. He won the election and was sworn into office as Governor of Nasarawa State on 29 May 2019.

As governor, Sule's administration has focused on infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, industrial development, security, youth empowerment, and investment promotion. His government has sought to attract private-sector investment and strengthen the state's economic base.
