Biography of Abdullahi Ango Sadiq

Abdullahi Ango Sadiq is a Nigerian politician from Kaduna State and a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He represents the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. Born in 1983, he has become known for his involvement in grassroots politics and legislative representation in Kaduna State.

Sadiq holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. His academic background in political science contributed to his interest in public affairs and governance. He is also the son of Professor Ango Abdullahi, a prominent academic, former Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and northern Nigerian elder statesman.

Before his election to the National Assembly, Sadiq was involved in political activities and contested the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency seat on several occasions. He eventually won the constituency in the 2023 general election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), defeating the incumbent APC candidate.

Sadiq's political journey was marked by a major personal ordeal in 2022 when he was among the passengers abducted during the attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train. He spent more than three months in captivity before his release. Despite the experience, he continued his political activities and later secured the PDP nomination for the 2023 election.

Following his election, Sadiq became a member of the 10th National Assembly, where he has participated in legislative proceedings and constituency representation. His activities have included attention to infrastructure, education, youth empowerment and other issues affecting residents of Sabon Gari.

In October 2025, Sadiq left the PDP and joined the APC alongside other Kaduna lawmakers. The move changed his political affiliation while he continued serving as the representative of Sabon Gari in the House of Representatives.

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Sadiq Ango Abdullahi contested the APC primary for Sabon Gari Federal Constituency. In May 2026, he secured the party's ticket after receiving 920 votes, making him the APC candidate for the constituency in the 2027 election. His political career combines grassroots engagement, legislative service and continued involvement in Kaduna State politics.
