Biography of Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari

Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari is a Nigerian politician, businessman, and public administrator from Zamfara State. He is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and represents Zamfara West Senatorial District in the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari was born on 19 January 1968 in Talata Mafara, Zamfara State. He received his early education in Zamfara State before pursuing further education and developing experience in business and public administration.

Before entering elective politics, Yari was involved in business and private-sector activities. His experience in business and administration provided him with exposure to management, entrepreneurship, investment, and community affairs.

Yari became actively involved in politics through the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and later became a prominent member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) before eventually joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).

His political career began at the federal level when he was elected to the House of Representatives in the 2007 general elections, representing the Anka, Talata Mafara and Maradun Federal Constituency of Zamfara State.

During his time in the House of Representatives, Yari participated in legislative activities, committee assignments, oversight functions, and constituency representation. His experience in the National Assembly provided a foundation for his subsequent political career.

In 2011, Yari contested for the governorship of Zamfara State and was elected Governor of Zamfara State under the PDP. He was sworn into office on 29 May 2011.
